Advanced Computer Science

You will study 4 specialist, advanced units from a regularly updated range on offer; different units are available from year to year to ensure flexible study patterns. We are a member of the Oracle Academy and highly rated in terms of research.

Entry requirements

You will normally have at least a 2nd-Class UK Honours degree (or international equivalent) in a computing-related subject, or exceptionally, a good sub-degree qualification in computing and very substantial work experience in computing or a closely-related area.

Course modules

Modules include: High performance computing and big data; advanced computer networks and operating systems; advanced computer science project; data science; enterprise programming; cryptography and encryption; mobile and ubiquitous computing.

Assessment methods

Assessment methods include coursework, examination and dissertation.
