Entry requirements

A relevant UK Honours degree (or international equivalent) or an HND/Foundation degree and relevant experience; or relevant professional qualifications, and experience. Each application is considered individually, based on qualification and experience. Enthusiasm and commitment are also important.

Course modules

Core Modules include: Geographic information systems and science: a primer; earth observation and GI technology; research design and methods (includes a 4-day formative field trip to lake windermere); programming and applications of GI; masters project dissertation.

Assessment methods

All units are continually assessed using a variety of assignment formats including: case studies, practical asssignments, reports, briefing papers, posters and oral presentations. The final year project is assessed through a final project report.
