Investment and Finance
This course is designed to provide an understanding of the important issues dominating the financial world today. Students develop competence in applying quantitative skills to the practice of financial investment and analysis and the critical and analytical powers to evaluate and understand the theoretical underpinning on which finance relies. This course provides an up-to-date evaluation of theory with an emphasis on the practical application of this knowledge.
Candidates should possess a good Honours degree with an applied quantitative element. Applicants should have competence in English language and grade C GCSE or an equivalent qualification. IELTS 6.5 (with minimum 6.0 in all 4 components) or TOEFL internet based 87 (with at least 21 in listening and writing, 22 in speaking and 23 in reading).
Modules include: Financial modelling and data analysis; financial theory and application; international risk management; portfolio analysis and investment management, dissertation.
Assessment is based on a combination of formal examinations and coursework.
