This course is for students wishing to develop a career in general management with an emphasis on management analysis. The course includes management techniques, tools for decision-making, and concepts in management practice. The course provides a quantitative and systematic approach to management. Students study a number of specialised decision-making and problem solving techniques, whilst being supported to build organisational capability, monitor developments and achieve business results.
Candidates should possess a good Honours degree, or equivalent qualification, in a relevant subject. Applications from candidates with appropriate qualifications and a minimum of 3 years' work experience are welcomed. Those without formal qualifications need to provide evidence of work experience and the ability to study at postgraduate level. Applicants should have competence in English language and grade C GCSE or an equivalent qualification. IELTS 6.5 (with minimum 6.0 in all 4 components) or TOEFL internet based 87 (with at least 21 in listening and writing, 22 in speaking and 23 in reading).
Modules include: Business and management concepts; supply chain management; quantitive analysis for managers; models in management science; managing projects; dissertation.
Assessment methods include essays and reports, putting together a portfolio, oral presentations, analysing case studies and a dissertation.
