International Human Resource Management

This course focuses on the skills and knowledge needed to act as a human resource professional, within a global context. The course is for individuals considering a career in human resources (HR), as well as professionals already working in the field. Students on this course study the tools and techniques of human resource management in an international context, and then focus on areas of study within a human resource management (HRM) department.

Entry requirements

A 2nd Class Honours degree or above, or an overseas equivalent qualification. Candidates with equivalent qualifications in appropriate subjects are welcomed. Applicants without a degree who have practical experience in personnel work will also be welcomed, but will need to demonstrate ability on the basis of courses already attended, references supplied, a 2,000-word essay and an interview. Part time students should be currently employed or have past experience in posts with significant personnel-related responsibilities. Applicants should have competence in English language and grade C GCSE or an equivalent qualification. IELTS 6.5 (with minimum 6.0 in all 4 components) or TOEFL internet based 87 (with at least 21 in listening and writing, 22 in speaking and 23 in reading).

Assessment methods

You will be assessed by means of exams, your dissertation and other coursework, including reports, presentations, group assignments and your record of learning and development.
