Candidates should possess an Honours degree (2.2 or above). Applicants will need to pass written and numeracy tests at GCSE grade C level (as part of the selection process). Candidates should have a minimum of six months work experience in a social care environment or a care setting. Experience working with people using services such as special needs education, with asylum seekers or in a health orientated setting, or as an informal carer or service user is welcomed (voluntary or paid work, including full-time or part-time employment).
Modules include: Law for social workers; social research methods; social work models and methods; initial professional practice placement; social work contexts and applications; the individual and society; final professional practice placement. Optional modules: adult needs and access to services or children; young people and families.
