The course allows students to choose from the complete selection of modules available within the Law Department; the programme broadens awareness and knowledge of significant areas of law and deepen understanding of legal processes, methods and concepts.
Candidates should have a good law degree (2.2 or above). Graduates from related disciplines are welcomed. Those without formal qualifications are required to undertake a course entitled introduction to the law during induction week; in appropriate cases, the university also asks for an IELTS score of 6.5.
Compulsory dissertation. Optional: Business obligations; corporate governance and corporate responsibility; discrimination and the law; globalisation and trade; intellectual property and media law; international human rights; international migration and the law; international organisations international dispute resolution; issues in EU law; minorities and groups in vulnerable positions; recruitment and termination Law.
Assessment methods included coursework, class participation, oral presentations and a dissertation.
