Project Management

This course is aimed at students with industrial experience wishing to move into project management within the engineering industry. The course provides the examples of current best practice with regard to human, financial and total quality management (TQM) of an engineering enterprise.

Entry requirements

Applicants should have an Honours degree (2.2 or above) an equivalent qualification in engineering or other relevant qualifications. Individuals with a minimum of 3 years' work experience and those without formal qualifications should demonstrate relevant work experience and the ability to study at postgraduate level. Candidates should have competence in English language and grade C GCSE or an equivalent qualification. The most common English language requirements for international students are IELTS 6.5 (with minimum 6.0 in all 4 components) or TOEFL internet based 87 (with at least 21 in listening & writing, 22 in speaking and 23 in reading).

Course modules

Modules include: Engineering innovation; engineering management group project; engineering project management; engineering simulation; human and financial management in engineering.

Assessment methods

Assessment is based on a combination of coursework, presentations, project and unseen examinations.
