Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Management
This course enables students to study the occupational health and safety sector and analyse and evaluate issues in scientific, technical and managerial terms.
Candidates should possess an Honours degree (2.2 or above) or an equivalent qualification. Applications from individuals with relevant qualifications and a minimum of 3 years' work experience are welcomed. Those without formal qualifications should demonstrate relevant work experience and the ability to study at postgraduate level. Applicants should have competence in English language and grade C GCSE or an equivalent qualification. IELTS 6.5 (with minimum 6.0 in all 4 components) or TOEFL internet based 87 (with at least 21 in listening & writing, 22 in speaking and 23 in reading).
Modules include: Managing hazardous agents and their effects in the workplace; managing workplace and work equipment hazards; research methods; research project; risk management fundamentals.
Assessment methods include coursework, case studies, presentations, part-seen written case study examinations and a dissertation.
