Arts, Business and Creativity
The course examines the theoretical aspects of the creative industries and the social, cultural, economic, political and increasingly international contexts in which they operate.
A 2.1 Honours degree, or international equivalent, preferably in a creative industry related subject, such as business and management studies, fine art, music, creative writing, or design. Students should also be able to demonstrate some relevant experience in the creative industries gained on a full-time, part-time or voluntary basis. Applicants with a 2.2 Honours degrees and those with non-standard qualifications and/or relevant professional experience will be considered on an individual basis. Applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.5 or equivalent (with a minimum of 6.0 in all sub sections), or equivalent.
Modules include: Arts as enterprise freelancing in arts and culture 1; business enterprise for postgraduate students; research methods; arts, business, creativity extended project (dissertation); understanding and managing creative enterprises; arts as enterprise - freelancing in arts and culture 2; understanding and managing creativity.
