Experimental Architecture

This programme is based on visionary architectural practice that deals with global 21st-century challenges, preparing students for a rapidly evolving professional environment. This forward-focussed course engages architectural agendas whilst providing opportunities to develop intellectual and practical skills in this changing world. This approach is grounded in experimental design-led methodology. Students work with new types of materials, methods and technologies that create the context for social, political, economic and cultural reflection. The course is design based and centred around 2 studios: Living technologies and synthetic ecologies.

Entry requirements

A 2.1 Honours degree, or equivalent, in a design-related discipline. Students from a computing related discipline will be considered. They will need to submit a portfolio to show us their design skills. Those with lower or non-standard qualification will also be considered on an individual basis. They will need to show: A high level of design ability; relevant knowledge from professional experience in a design related profession. Applicants whose 1st language is not English need an overall IELTS score of 6.5.
