The programme helps achieve a critical conceptual understanding of practice, thought, evidence and theory relating to recent developments in education. Students can then apply this understanding to their own professional context. This is a taught professional doctorate. This is based on a rigorous examination of current research and applied theoretical perspectives. It provides flexibility in the design, length and format of the research-based investigations.

Entry requirements

A 2.1 Honours degree and a Master's degree with at least 60%, or international equivalent, in a relevant subject. Applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.5 (with a minimum of 6.5 in writing and 6.0 in all other sub-sections) or equivalent.
