The programme consists of school experience, primary professional studies and curriculum studies; almost half students time (18 weeks) is spent in schools to build confidence and competence as a classroom practitioner; the focus on professional studies and curriculum studies prepares students to deliver the National Curriculum in school; students cover: art; design and technology; English; geography; history; information and communication technology; mathematics; music; physical education; religious education; science; in order to be recommended for Qualified Teacher Status students must demonstrate compliance with all the specified standards including successful completion of the Teaching Agency (TA) tests in numeracy, literacy and information communications technology; students undertake 60 credits of Master's-level modules throughout their training year; if they successfully pass all components, they graduate with the PGCE at Master's level and are recommended for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
2.2 Honours degree or above (in any subject/s); GCSE or O-level passes (grades A�C) obtained before applying for the PGCE programme in English language, mathematics and a science subject, or equivalent; students must spend at least 10 recent days working/ observing in a UK primary classroom, prior to application.
