Clinical Linguistics and Evidence-Based Practice

Our course provides a foundation in research methodology and evidence based practice in a flexible format. Students can develop your own area of interest in a research or Evidence Based Practice (EBP) framework. It forms part of the 1+3 (Master's plus PhD) scheme under the North East Doctoral Training Centre. This course is intended for graduates in clinical linguistics, psychology, speech and language therapy or a related discipline with an interest in research in speech, language, communication and swallowing disorders.

Entry requirements

A 2.1 Honours degree, or equivalent, in a relevant subject area, eg linguistics, psychology, speech or language pathology. This course is only available to those applying for a studentship from the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC). If your first language is not English you need IELTS 7.0 (with a minimum of 6.5 in listening and speaking), or equivalent.
