Educational Leadership

The course is for practising educators in any educational sector, particularly those in leadership roles or aspiring leaders. On completing the course graduates will have a good, critical understanding of: current thinking and key issues of leadership and strategic management of educational institutions; relevant leadership theories and their significance for educational leadership. The course will help students to use approaches of practitioner enquiry as a means for professional practice, educational effectiveness and improvement of educational organisations.

Entry requirements

An undergraduate degree and relevant professional experience in an educational context. Employer's permission is not necessary for entry to the course, but students should discuss the focus of their assignments (where necessary) with appropriate colleagues/line managers. Applicants need to have current access to educational workplaces (eg through employment or educational consultancy), but they do not need to be in a leadership role. International students must follow a full time degree course to receive a student visa. Applicants who have a working visa you may be eligible for part time study on this course. Applicants whose 1st language is not English need an overall IELTS score of 6.5.
