Human Geography Research

This research training programme focuses on the development of knowledge in human geography within the context of advanced training in research. Recognised by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), it provides advanced-level training in research skills, methods and theories to enable you to pursue a career in research, either in the academic sector or with public, private or voluntary sector organisations.

Entry requirements

A 2.1 Honours degree, or international equivalent, in a relevant arts, humanities or social science subject, such as geography, planning, urban studies, environmental studies, sociology, politics or business studies; applicants with lower or non-standard qualifications who have relevant industry experience will be considered; applicants currently living in the UK may be invited to an interview; applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
