Systems Biology

This course is a research-based course with a taught component that is equivalent to an MSc. The taught component of the course includes subject-specific content in the area of systems biology. Subject-based modules aim to develop a new generation of creative, innovative scientists and engineers, whose expertise spans the biological and physical domains.

Entry requirements

A 2.1 Honours degree, or international equivalent, in a science discipline, or an MBBS degree with high grades. Practical laboratory work experience is desirable, although not essential. Applicants whose 1st language is not English require a minimum of IELTS 6.5 (with a minimum of 6.5 in all sub-sections) or equivalent. International applicants require an ATAS (Academic Technology Approval Scheme) clearance certificate prior to obtaining their visa and to study on this programme.

Assessment methods

Assessment is by a research project. This project will involve 24 weeks of research in an area of systems biology under the supervision of an expert academic researcher in the field.
