Translational Medicine and Therapeutics

This course is a research-based course with a taught component that is equivalent to an MSc. It provides a springboard into a career that involves a working knowledge of scientific research. Subject-based modules in translational medicine and therapeutics provide the opportunity to learn about the development and evaluation of new medicines and to develop skills in translational research relating to therapeutics. Teaching and supervision is provided by both university-based academics and experts from the pharmaceutical industry. The course allows students to experience an internationally competitive research area, predominantly in academia but also potentially in industry.

Entry requirements

A 2.1 Honours degree, or international equivalent, in a science discipline, or an MBBS degree with high grades. Practical laboratory work experience is desirable, although not essential. Applicants whose 1st language is not English require a minimum of IELTS 6.5 (with a minimum of 6.5 in all sub-sections) or equivalent. International applicants require an ATAS (Academic Technology Approval Scheme) clearance certificate prior to obtaining their visa and to study on this programme.
