Toxicology

This course is a research-based course with a taught component that is equivalent to an MSc. It provides a springboard into a career that involves a working knowledge of scientific research. The taught component of the course includes subject-specific content in the area of toxicology. The course allows you to experience an internationally competitive research area, predominantly in academia but also potentially in industry.

Entry requirements

A 2.1 Honours degree, or international equivalent, in a science discipline, or an MBBS degree with high grades. Practical laboratory work experience is desirable, although not essential. Applicants whose 1st language is not English require a minimum of IELTS 6.5 (with a minimum of 6.5 in all sub-sections) or equivalent. International applicants require an ATAS (Academic Technology Approval Scheme) clearance certificate prior to obtaining their visa and to study on this programme.

Assessment methods

Assessment is by a research project. This project will involve 24 weeks of research in an area of toxicology under the supervision of an expert academic researcher in the field.
