Microbiology

Microbiological research takes place in Newcastle in medical sciences, biological sciences, and civil engineering and geosciences. MPhil, PhD and MD research proposals are welcomed in all 3 of these fields. This course is well funded and this creates a vibrant and dynamic environment for postgraduate study.

Entry requirements

A 2.1 Honours degree, or international equivalent, in a science or medicine related subject; plus further research experience and/or a further qualification such as an MRes; MD: a MBBS, or an equivalent medical degree; applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
