Musculoskeletal Ageing

This is a research-based course with a taught component that is equivalent to an MSc. The taught component of the course includes musculoskeletal ageing specific content. This content is delivered as a series of e-learning modules provided by Newcastle University and also the CIMA partner universities of Liverpool and Sheffield. Students also receive training in general research principles and in professional and key skills. The research project is a major element of the course. This project involves 24 weeks of research in an area of musculoskeletal ageing. Supervision is by expert academic researchers in their field of interest. Students also do a placement at either Liverpool University or Sheffield University. These universities are academic partners in the Centre for Integrated research into Musculoskeletal Ageing (CIMA) course.

Entry requirements

A 2.1 Honours degree, or international equivalent, in a science discipline or an MBBS/BDS degree with high grades. Practical laboratory work experience is desirable, although not essential. Applicants whose 1st language is not English require a minimum of IELTS 6.5 (with at least 6.5 in all sub-skills).
