This course provides a quantitative training in hydrology, hydraulics and modern information communications technology (ICT) within the context of water management, preparing students for a career in hydroinformatics in the water sector. The course begins with field visits to case studies in the north of England. These provide the stimulus and context for our formal teaching as well as an informal setting for students to get to know staff and fellow students.
A good 2.2 Honours degree, or international equivalent, in subjects such as: engineering; geography; environmental sciences; Earth sciences; mathematics; physics; geology; chemistry; computer sciences; geomatics. Applicants with different or non-standard qualifications will be considered on an individual basis, particularly if they have relevant industrial experience. Applicants whose 1st language is not English need an overall IELTS score of 6.5 (with at least 6.0 in all sub-skills).
