Computer Security and Resilience

This course combines teaching and research in security and system reliability with human factors, verification and distributed systems. It gives students an integrated view of the technologies relevant to developing trustworthy systems. Students will develop the skills to design and assess computing systems to be secure and safe in the face of failure or attack. They will have the opportunity to assess a real system, such as a cybercrime incident room.

Entry requirements

A minimum of a 2.2 Honours degree, or international equivalent, in computer science or a discipline with significant computing content such as mathematics, engineering or systems engineering; applicants with lower or non-standard qualifications will be considered on an individual basis provided they have several years of relevant industrial computing experience; applicants whose 1st language is not English require an overall IELTS score of 6.5 or equivalent.
