Offshore Engineering

This Offshore Engineering MSc provides students with the specialist education necessary to enter the offshore engineering industry. Students specialise in the design, dynamic and strength analysis of fixed and floating offshore oil and gas platforms. They also study subsea systems, including marine systems to produce renewable energy. Students also benefit from participating in projects sponsored directly by industry partners whenever they are available.

Entry requirements

A 2.1 Honours degree, or international equivalent, in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, naval architecture, offshore engineering, ocean engineering or marine engineering. Applicants are also considered on an individual basis if they have lower or non-standard qualifications and relevant practical experience. Applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.5 or equivalent. International applicants require an ATAS (Academic Technology Approval Scheme) clearance certificate prior to obtaining their visa and to study on this course.
