Nursing (pre-registration MNurs RN Adult)

This adult nursing course provides students with an opportunity to gain an Integrated MNurs/Registered Nurse qualification and acts as preparation both for registration as a nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and for taking on the responsibilities and accountability involved. Adult Nursing aims to provide graduates holding a degree at 2:2 or above the opportunity to study at Level 7 - the theory that underpins nursing practice and develops knowledge and skills through evidence-based learning. Practice experience is gained in both hospital and community settings. On successful completion of this programme students will be able to enter Part one (Adult) of the Register held by the NMC. The Adult Nursing course has been developed to prepare students to be safe, effective and caring practitioners who are ready to work with adults with a variety of care needs across a range of dependencies, with a wide diversity of needs and in a varied range of care settings as well as their carers and supporters. The Adult Nursing course provides students with the skills, knowledge and experience to care for adults across a range of health care settings. The course focuses on acute illness, older people and the care and management of patients with long term conditions. In addition, the delivery of public health interventions and the care of people at all stages of their life, including end of life care is explored across a range of modules and practice learning experiences.
