Cultural Management

The programme explores the impact of digital technologies on management styles and structures within the creative and cultural industries and the opportunities presented that enable individual creative practitioners to be an artist and or to set up a cultural enterprise. The impact of such technology on the management of cultural businesses, the perceived barriers and the ways in which new media can be used as a positive factor are examined using case studies.

Entry requirements

Degree in an arts related area; a degree in a non-arts related area with a proven interest in an art form or aspects of cultural management; or considerable relevant work experience supported by evidence that the work required use of a range of critical, analytical or management abilities. International/English language requirements: IELTS 6.5, TOEFL (575 paper-based, 90 internet-based).

Course modules

Modules include: organisational management in cultural and non commercial organisations; philanthropy and fundraising; working in the creative industries; dissertation; the cultural manager.
