The programme provides prospective workers in the music industry with a combination of essential cultural management competencies, and an awareness and understanding of music industry specific issues; the music industry includes organisations varying in size from the largest multinational mega corporations to the loneliest sole trader; this programme looks closely at the relationship between these disparate groups, examines the nature of participation and involvement by performers, critically examines the role of information and communication technology, and addresses the issues that today�s music industry managers have to face.
Candidates should possess 1 of the following: a degree in an arts related area; a degree in a non-arts related area with a proven interest in an art form or aspects of cultural management and or considerable relevant work experience.
Organisational management in cultural and non commercial organisations; music industry management; contemporary issues in cultural event management; dissertation; the cultural manager.
