Human Resource Management and Development

This programme provides students with a critical appreciation of how to build up human capability so that both the student as an individual, and the human resources they manage, add value to the organisation.

Entry requirements

An Honours or CNAA degree; Newcastle Business School Diploma in Management Development (Newcastle Business School offers a 1 year part-time Diploma in management development designed to equip non-graduate applicants for the programme); an equivalent professional qualification with 2.5 years managerial or supervisory experience; graduate members of the CIPD may progress directly to the top-up Master's degree. English language requirements: IELTS 6.5, TOEFL (575 paper-based, 90 internet-based) or equivalent.

Course modules

Modules include: business research analysis; financial and database systems management; human resource management in context; developing self as an human resource leader; developing skills for professional practice in human resource management; total reward; masters dissertation: management research report; managing employee engagement; managing and developing talent.
