Strategic Marketing

This programme has been developed for students seeking a career within marketing management in private, public or non-profit sector organisations across the globe. Students who are interested in pursuing professional qualifications can gain exemption from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) examinations. The programme introduces students to classic and contemporary marketing theories and concepts and applies them to real life business cases and best industry practice. The programme is divided into 2 12-week teaching semesters that incorporate specialised marketing modules such as marketing strategy in an international environment, marketing research applications and buyer behaviour. The programme also contains core modules that provide students with key research and personal development skills. In the remainder of the programme students have the opportunity to explore in detail an aspect of marketing through a 15000-word dissertation.

Entry requirements

A 2.2 (or above) Honours degree in a business related discipline; applicants whose 1st language is not English should have studied at undergraduate level in English, or have a British Council International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.5 (or above) or a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 550 (or above), or equivalent.

Course modules

Modules include: business research analysis; developing self; dissertation; global marketing strategy; advertising and marketing communications strategy; analysing buyer behaviour and brand dynamics; advanced marketing research applications; advanced interactive and relationship marketing; managing value strategically.
