This course is suitable for students from a non-computing background seeking to gain a solid grounding in a range of skills and techniques that are relevant to the computing and information technology industry. These include learning SQL with the Oracle RDBMS; the Java programming language; (X)HTML, CSS and PHP for web development; and the Unified Modelling Language.

Entry requirements

A 2.2 Honours degree, or its equivalent, or professional qualifications that are equivalent to an Honours degree. English language requirements are IELTS 6.5, TOEFL (575 paper-based, 90 internet-based).

Course modules

Programme design and implementation; database modelling; computer networks and operating systems; project management studies; research methods; hypermedia for the information professional; systems analysis and design with UML; research project.
