Occupational Therapy (pre-registration)
The course provides students with educational experience of occupational therapy so they can work in a range of health and community settings.
Normally an Honours degree with a minimum of 2.2 in a health subject or related subject to occupational therapy (completed within the last 5 years); or an Honours degree (1st or 2nd Class upper division) and relevant pre-professional experience; or overseas trained therapists with professional OT qualifications at HE Diploma level; APL/AP(E)L/ AWBL may be appropriate and will be assessed against university criteria in the Lifelong Learning Accreditation Framework. English Language Requirements: IELTS 6.5, TOEFL (575 paper-based, 90 internet-based) or equivalent.
Introduction to occupational theory and practice; developing occupational therapy theory and practice; promoting evidence in occupational therapy practice; leadership in occupational therapy practice; entrepreneurship in occupational therapy; contexts of occupational therapy practice.
The course fees are funded through the Northern Strategic Health Authority � Workforce Development Confederation.The Department of Health�s Student Grant Unit is notified once a student accepts a place and they then contact individual students to establish the level of maintenance award.
