International Trade and Commercial Law
This course explores diverse areas of the subject including: international sales and carriage of goods; insurance; international finance; international dispute resolution; World trade organisation law.
Modules include: international competition law; international trade risk insurance; international carriage of goods; international commercial transactions; international sale of goods; private international law; World trade organisation; dissertation.
In each case modules are assessed through 1 piece of course work. This usually takes the form of a problem or essay style question, but will vary by module. Students can submit and receive feedback on assessments over the course of each module. The dissertation is 18,000 to 20,000 words and is researched and written independently under the guidance of an expert academic.
Students who are in practice may obtain funding from their employer; bursaries are normally available for this course and are equivalent to up to half the UK/EU fees; the bursaries are competitive and are awarded on the basis of: Evidence of the pursuit of excellence in individual performance and/or experience outside education; a written statement indicating the anticipated academic and career benefits applicants may receive from studying this programme.
