Oil, Gas and Mining Law
This course aims to provide students with a strong analytical understanding of the key legal issues in the area, with a particular focus on the environmental law and investment law aspects of the oil, gas and mining industries.
Core modules: oil, gas and mining investment law 1; oil, gas and mining investment law 2; oil, gas and mining and environmental law 1; oil, gas and mining and environmental law 2.
In each case modules are assessed through 1 piece of course work. This usually takes the form of a problem or essay style question, but will vary by module. Students also submit a dissertation of around 18,000 to 20,000 words on a suitable topic of their choice.
Students who are in practice may obtain funding from their employer; bursaries are normally available for this course and are equivalent to up to half the UK/EU fees; the bursaries are competitive and are awarded on the basis of: Evidence of the pursuit of excellence in individual performance and/or experience outside education; a written statement indicating the anticipated academic and career benefits applicants may receive from studying this programme.
