Whether you want to work for a major international brand or an innovative creative agency, our popular MSc Branding and Advertising degree will help you develop into an effective marketing communications professional. This course will give you the leading-edge theories, tools and techniques you need to operate at a strategic and tactical level within global marketing. Created in close consultation with senior marketing professionals and the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), our course will develop the skills that are sought after by today's marketing employers. When you successfully complete your MSc Branding and Advertising degree, you'll have the opportunity to gain an extra qualification, the Level 4 Certificate in Professional Marketing upon successful completion of an assessment. You'll also be given the opportunity to attend the Google workshops which will be run by Google Partners to gain a professional accreditation that Google offers to individuals who demonstrate proficiency in basic and advanced aspects of AdWords. **Why choose this degree?** - Small group teaching delivered by a team of specialists who have both academic and extensive marketing industry credentials. - As an MSc Branding and Advertising student you will gain a Graduate Gateway accreditation from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) which means you will have the option to gain a second professional qualification. - You will complete a hands-on project; giving you a fantastic opportunity to use the theories and knowledge, you've gained to produce a meaningful piece of work. Entry requirements

Master of Science - MSc (PG): You will need an undergraduate degree equivalent to a UK undergraduate honours degree (2.2 or above). All applicants will be required to demonstrate a commitment to the subject they wish to study and should demonstrate how their chosen programme of study will benefit them in their future career. One academic reference is required. Applicants with non-standard entry requirements and / or relevant experience will be considered on an individual basis.

Course modules

Semester One - Principles of Marketing (20 credits), The Customer Experience (20 credits), Strategic Marketing and the Global Environment (20 credits). Semester Two - Branding and Corporate Reputation Management (20 credits), Driving Marketing Communications (20 credits), Contemporary Perspectives in Customer Engagement (20 credits). Semester Three - In your final semester you will take on a experiential project, giving you a fantastic opportunity to use the theories and knowledge you've gained to produce a challenging, meaningful piece of work. Projects include: Consultancy Experience Project (40 credits), Internship Experience Project (40 credits), Business Research Project (40 credits), Global Experience Project (40 credits). Ongoing Learning - Transformational Leadership Development (10 credits), Customer Insight through Marketing Research (10 credits), Placement Diploma in Industrial Experience (2 year course only).

Assessment methods

A range of assessment methods are used across the course, the choice of which reflects the needs and demands of the different types of module. Some modules will assess the ability to work collaboratively in a team and others will assess individual capability. Types of assessment will range from examinations to group presentations including essays, reports, financial analyses, literature reviews and research-based projects. The interactive nature of the taught sessions offers opportunities to gain feedback on your performance before being formally assessed and increasing use is made of eLearning to further support the feedback process.
