The course provides students with a grounding in how the key functional areas of business are integrated in successful organisations; builds on the core module in organisational analysis and human resource strategy to develop the understanding and competencies in key aspects necessary for effective human resources managers; it is constructed to reflect the national standards of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD); the core modules develop an in depth understanding of current management practice and leading edge research; specialist modules enable students to develop their skills and knowledge in human resources.

Entry requirements

An undergraduate degree equivalent to a UK undergraduate Honours degree (2.2 or above).

Course modules

Core modules: business economics; business strategy; finance; managing people and organisations; marketing principles and practices; managing information and knowledge; managing operations; research methods and research project; international business management; strategic project management and consultancy; personal development and career advancement. Specialist modules: human resource management in international organisations; managing training and development; performance management.
