Public Services Management

The course aims to develop essential management practice and knowledge required by managers in the public services; the course is designed for public service managers who already have a degree and / or other professional qualifications at degree level or above; this course emphasises and supports joint development opportunities to facilitate interagency working; it also provides an arena for networking with like minded professionals in the public service field who can inform practice through shared experiences.

Entry requirements

Applicants are typically practitioners who are either working in or preparing for their 1st managerial role; or experienced managers who have no management qualifications.

Course modules

Modules include: the public services manager; managing people and performance; managing performance and quality in public service delivery.

Assessment methods

There are 3 assignments to complete spaced throughout the year, plus an optional practice assignment.
