Ideal for non construction or real estate graduates; the course provides broad based insights into the industries and then allows students to develop a specialism and expertise in their chosen field of study through course specific modules; this course focuses on contract management, and procurement focus, making it particularly appropriate to applicants wishing to gain a stronger insight into these aspects of the cost management and construction business.

Entry requirements

A good Honours degree, or equivalent, in a subject unrelated to property and construction; overseas students should be able to demonstrate English language proficiency to the level IELTS 6.5, TOEFL (paper) 560 with a written score of 5.0 or TOEFL (IBT) 83 with a written score of 24; language tuition and support in English is available.

Course modules

Modules: integrated working; initiation and procuring of projects; managing construction projects 1; managing organisations and people; construction business environment; design, value and cost; legal studies; introduction to lean construction; postgraduate research skills and dissertation.

Assessment methods

There are a variety of assessment methods including: examinations, assignments (including essays, case studies, portfolios and presentations); group projects; a dissertation.
