Research Methods and Study Skills (15 HE credits)
This module introduces the methodology and methods used in built environment research; the theory behind different research methods and practical aspects of their implementation is examined, and data analysis is also considered (quantitative and qualitative methods are examined, with practical examples); another primary aim is to introduce the information sources useful for work and research in the built environment; this enables students to make use of these resources during their study; the importance of critical appraisal of sources is stressed and skills developed.
