Intellectual Property Basic Litigation Skills (Patent Attorney)
Pursuant to the New Qualification Regime for Patent Attorney and Trade Mark Attorney Litigators (January 2014), IPReg expects every newly qualified attorney to have attended and passed a basic litigation course within 3 years of qualification. The Basic Litigation Skills course to be offered by Nottingham Law School is a 5 day course for Patent Attorneys (generally Monday to Friday). The course is accredited by IPReg.
Applicants are required to be qualified Patent Attorneys.
The course is assessed by a 2 hour written paper and a 15 minute advocacy assessment approximately 4-6 weeks following the course. Success in the assessment entitles candidates to apply to IPReg for The Intellectual Property Litigation Certificate.
