This comprehensive course is designed to meet a growing need for highly skilled conservationists with academic qualifications at Master's level; it aims to provide students with the knowledge to enable them to work within the environmental and ecological consulting and conservation professions.
MRes: 2.1 Honours degree or higher in a relevant science degree; MSc: 2.2 Honours degree or higher in a relevant science degree along with relevant industry experience; applicants with a 2.1 or higher may be considered without relevant industry experience; equivalent level of industrial experience may also be considered.
Modules include: research methods and data analysis; conservation priorities; species recovery (theories, methods and techniques); environmental assessment and consultancy; protected species surveying; geographical information systems (GIS).
Achievement is assessed through written assignments, a dissertation and formal examinations; MSc and MRes degree students complete an individual research project.
