Museum and Heritage Management

This course combines the academic interrogation of museums and heritage as ideas, organisations and experiences with creative, practice-based approaches to their ongoing development in the 21st Century.

Entry requirements

A good UK Honours degree (minimum 2.2) in a relevant subject; applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.5.

Course modules

The following are 2 year long modules, taught for a day per week each: professional practice: heritage resource management, presentation management; academic underpinning: theoretical debates, thesis.

Assessment methods

Continuous assessment include: essays, individual and group projects, reports, presentations, an exhibition and portfolio, and a thesis reflecting the professional expertise in the field; there are no written examinations.

Arts and Humanities Research Council awards may also be available; some University bursaries are available and are based on academic quality and impact.
