Environmental Management

This eLearning course is designed to give students the theoretical and practical skills needed to develop, implement and manage a resource strategy for a public or private-sector organisation. In particular, it will show students how to achieve sustainable development within a framework of economic growth.

Entry requirements

A UK Honours degree (2.2 minimum) or equivalent in a relevant discipline such as earth or natural sciences, geography, law or business studies; other relevant qualifications and experience may be accepted; international students need IELTS 6.5 (with minimum of 5.5 in reading, listening, speaking and writing).

Course modules

Modules include: advanced environmental management; environmental management systems; practical resource management; research methods and bioethics; research project.

Assessment methods

The taught modules are assessed by a variety of different types of coursework. The research project module will involve the design, implementation and reporting of a major research task. Students take self-guided and formal assessments, including written assessments, oral presentations, online assessment tests, poster presentations and a thesis.
