A UK Honours degree (minimum 2.2) or equivalent in a relevant biological subject; applicants with relevant employment experience or other relevant qualifications may also be considered; international students need IELTS 6.5 (with minimum of 5.5 in reading, listening, speaking and writing).
Core modules: cell culture and antibody technology; research methods and bioethics; research project. Optional modules: microbial diagnostics; pharmacology; molecular biology; biology of disease. Plus 1 of the following eLearning modules: cellular pathology; clinical chemistry; haematology and transfusion science; medical microbiology.
Assessment methods include: written assignments; computer-aided learning packages; dissertation; oral presentation; laboratory reports; formal examinations.
