This course is designed to give students the opportunity to develop research skills in a computing area that meets their interests and career development needs; it allows you to combine material from any of the taught Master's courses with an extended research project over a 1 year period.
A UK Honours degree (minimum 2.1) or equivalent in a related discipline such as computer science or electronic engineering; applications are also invited from mature students with non-traditional qualifications; students must produce a research proposal as part of their application; international students need IELTS 6.5 (with minimum of 5.5 in reading, listening, speaking and writing) or TOEFL iBT 83 (with minimum reading:18, listening:17, speaking: 20, writing: 17); other English language qualifications may be taken into consideration.
Core Modules: research methods; research project. Optional modules: 3 dimensional games algorithms; advanced software engineering; applied artificial intelligence; business operations and reliability management; computing systems; digital 3 dimensions; enterprise computing; enterprise systems management; entrepreneurial leadership and project management; games prototyping; global business management; internet development; internet programming; software engineering; multimedia applications and computer aided learning; wireless communications and mobile networking.
Assessment is primarily coursework based and takes a variety of forms.
