This course gives students the opportunity to develop research skills in computing specialisms to meet their interests and career development needs.

Entry requirements

A UK Honours degree (minimum 2.1) or equivalent in a related discipline such as electronics or physics; applications are also invited from mature students with non-traditional qualifications; students must produce a research proposal as part of their application; applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.5 with minimum of 5.5 in each component.

Course modules

Core modules: research methods; research project. Optional modules: 3-dimensional games algorithms; advanced software engineering ; artificial intelligence; business operations and simulation; computer architecture; computing systems; design project; digital 3-dimensional; enterprise computing and systems management; entrepreneurial leadership and games prototyping; global business management; internet development and programming; multimedia applications and computer aided learning; software engineering and application design; software project management; wireless communications and mobile networking.

Assessment methods

Assessment is primarily coursework-based and takes a variety of forms.
