Medical and Materials Imaging

This course offers the opportunity to study and develop knowledge and expertise in a specialist area of imaging according to personal interest and aspirations. The programme also gives students the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills in a number of techniques and approaches in both medical and materials imaging.

Entry requirements

A UK Honours degree (minimum 2.2) or equivalent in a relevant discipline such as physics or engineering; applicants with relevant employment experience may also be considered; international students need IELTS 6.5 (with minimum of 5.5 in reading, listening, speaking and writing) or TOEFL iBT 83 (with minimum reading:18, listening:17, speaking: 20, writing: 17); other English language qualifications may be taken into consideration.

Course modules

Modules include: research methodology and ethics; medical imaging; materials and security imaging; research project.

Assessment methods

Assessment includes a written exam, laboratory based assessment, oral presentation, assignment, poster presentation and project report.
