Sport and Leisure Management
This course develops expertise primarily within the area of sport and leisure management; however, it develops a range of essential management skills that are transferable across industry sectors. The focus is on developing research expertise, with a project conducted over the entire year of study. Current practical, technical and research skills are embedded in the course to reflect the needs of sport related careers and industry but it is also a great stepping stone to a PhD.
A UK Honours degree (minimum 2.1) or equivalent in sport science or a relevant discipline such as psychology; appropriate experience or other relevant qualifications may also be considered; international students need IELTS 6.5 (with minimum of 5.5 in reading, listening, speaking and writing) or TOEFL iBT 83 (with minimum reading:18, listening:17, speaking: 20, writing: 17); other English language qualifications may be taken into consideration.
Modules include: creativity and innovation; sport research methods; sport in action; sport research project.
Assessments are by a combination of oral presentations, assignments, poster presentations, journal articles and an interview.
