Human Resource Management (F68)
The course offers an in-depth understanding of human resource (HR) management combined with a broader understanding of the organisational and management context within which HR management specialists must operate. It combines an emphasis on the development of HR management strategies with opportunities to develop specialist skills essential for practitioners. It is suitable for those who are at the start of their career as an HR professional or who aspire to enter the HR profession and it is also relevant to the experienced manager/HR professional with a degree who wants to gain a postgraduate qualification. The qualification is intended to provide a route to professional membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development CIPD (subject to the Institute's approval).
All entrants to this course must hold a bachelors degree awarded by a recognised UK university, or equivalent; if you hold a qualification that you believe is an equivalent level to a UK bachelors degree you should contact our Student Registration & Enquiry Service. The Open University Business School Masters Programme Committee is responsible for judging whether applicants qualifications meet the requirements for admission. You will also need an appropriate facility in English language, sufficient to be able to work effectively at postgraduate level; generally this means capability equivalent to an International English Language Test System (IELTS) score of 6.5. To assess your English language skills in relation to your proposed studies you can visit the IELTS website.
