Whilst organisations of all kinds become increasingly reliant on technology to improve efficiencies, and develop new opportunities, many are not maximising their technologies. By recognising the unique challenges of technology within an organisation, in terms of either a planned or emergent formation of a realised strategy, this module takes an overview of the theoretical perspectives on strategic management. This theory is placed in a technological context, and then related to a range of practical techniques and approaches relevant to technology strategy making. The module is suitable for anyone interested in developing or improving a technology strategy for their organisation.
