Environmental Monitoring and Protection (T868)
In many countries there is a legal requirement for a formal environmental impact assessment of infrastructure projects that are likely to have a significant impact on the environment; this online course equips students with the skills necessary to undertake environmental assessment work, interpret the results, and suggest appropriate remedial measures; the course covers water pollution control, air quality management, noise control, and solid waste management, using a rich variety of examples; the course utilises computer modelling for prediction of impacts, and offers a range of remedial measures that can be selected for effective pollution control.
You should have a science or engineering undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification, and a good knowledge of written English. You are strongly advised to study Managing for Sustainability (T867) before taking T868, as it offers good preparation for this course.
